Child Abuse

When it comes down to it, children are often the innocent bystanders in a case of domestic violence. When it comes to a child getting abused by an adult there is absolutely zero choice but to go to the police. People with so few moral scruples as to abuse a child must be held accountable.

Child abuse charges must be brought against these people for multiple reasons.

One, simply because they are obviously a danger to everyone around them, if they have such a low moral threshold, or, so little control over their own emotions that they are capable of doing such things. They are a danger to everyone.

Secondly, I personally would think while it may be traumatic for a child to see, at the end of the day it is a good message to send to a child that people simply can't do things like that, society does not approve of it, and people that do it are held accountable. At this point it is critical for them to know people are looking out for them, as they may not feel that way if it's a parent that has done the abuse in the first place.

Fortunately there are many child abuse hotlines and child abuse organizations out there that will help people get the help they need to protect the children, and prosecute the abuser. Look in your area to find them, they are not hard to find. childhelp.org can help as well.

The downside, of course, is that there are also several unscrupulous lawyers out there to defend these abusive scumbags as well. That being said, there are also many family practice and protection lawyers that will specialize in prosecuting child abuse.

As with everything else, different states have different laws, but, rest assured every state in the country, and every nation in the civilized world, takes child abuse very seriously.

Not only that, but, should the abuser find himself or herself going to the big house for a bit, it is worth noting the time served in itself won't be nearly the main part of the punishment. If you know anything about typical hierarchy of that environment, know that child abusers are the lowest of the low, and often suffer the worst punishment of all inflicted by other inmates.
