Meth Amphetamine

Crystal Meth Amphetamine, or "Meth" is growing in popularity at alarming rates according to the media, however, I remember it's common usage 20 years ago as well, so how much it's went up I don't know.

Meth is a man made substance, produced from chemical that can often be found in your kitchen and garage. This is an extremely addictive, and very physically damaging drug. Many users take to try to make it due to the ease of getting the chemicals for low grade Meth. Making it is very dangerous, it smells, it's highly explosive and the wrong recipe can have lethal implications. it is generally done by sniffing it up your nose, smoking it or injecting it.

Meth users bring with them the possibility for extreme violence when angered or pushed. To compound the problem, Meth users can have superhuman strength during fits of rage, and their typical mental processes, such as those that indicate pain and fatigue, can be slowed or shut down.

That combination can be very dangerous, you can at time hit people in the middle of a Meth rage with a police-issued stun gun and it can have little to know effect, as their body is not getting the message to their brain that they are in pain. During a violent or physical confrontation, this can be a huge problem.

Frequent Meth users can be spotted with a few signs. After years of frequent use their teeth often rot (called "meth mouth") due to the lack of eating and oral care, their appearance can be skeletal, with sunken eyes and cheeks for the same reason, lack of nourishment, as Meth often leads to little eating. For this reason it is sometimes used as a dietary aid for some users.

Users often appear jittery, nervous and/or paranoid which comes from long bouts of no sleep and the side effects of that.

The chemicals in the drug can lead to rotting away of the septum (if used by snorting) and lead to ulcers, intestinal problems and more.
