Crack and Cocaine

Crack and Cocaine are basically the same thing, a derivative of the same plant, with the differences being the processing of the product which leads to different levels of purity and different levels of addictiveness.

Crack and Cocaine are both incredibly addictive substances. These substances can be done by smoking, sniffing and shooting. However, the quality is sometimes tested by tasting, or "gumming" which is rubbing a small sample on your gums to see how numb it makes your gums and lips.

These drugs are a huge factor in the amount of money and power common street gangs possess and is the source of incredible amounts of street violence over selling turf and over debt. The cost of a crack or cocaine habit is really unfathomable with a single evening of partying often running into the hundreds of dollars. A habit can easily amount to that much each day. This kind of mounting financial obligation just for your habit leads to crime on many levels. The user often resorts to robbery and violence to get the money they need, it has forced people into prostitution to pay off debts, or to the job of selling the product to others in order to decrease their own habit costs. A dealer that uses rarely makes money, they simply pay for their own habit, which allows a "successful" crack or cocaine dealer to develop an incredibly habit of doing insane amounts of the drug.

Trying to quit the drugs are very difficult often putting your body though multiple levels of agony from withdrawal from relatively simple bouts with headaches and stomach pains to sleepless nights, cold sweats, heart issues from your body simply not being used to not having the drug in their body. It is a long and hard mental and physical battle.

People under the influence and in the quitting phases can easily become angry and violent. People under the addiction of crack and cocaine have been known to do almost anything they need to do to get the drug their body craves.
