Drug And Alcohol Abuse And It's Effects On People's Live And The Lives Around Them
Obviously, at this point in time everybody knows about drugs, legal and illegal, and acoholism, it's health implications, the media driven hype behind the "epidemics" that involve them and much more.
Drugs and alcohol have played no role in the issues we have faced that we are aware of, with the possible exception of our adversary not taking some prescribed meds that we don't know about, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have some importance to others that may be visiting this site. It is a subject I have some knowledge on from previous experiences so I figured it is a worthwhile subject to approach in the context of this web site.
Drugs and Alcohol In Today's Society
The media will have you think that drug use is at an all time high these days, I tend to doubt that, I think it's covered as an all time high and it appears worse because of the intense media hype building of it. That notwithstanding, it is common. But not all drugs affect people the same way, so covering any one person as a "drug user" and pigeon-holing them into a single stereotype of a "junkie" is unfair and possibly inaccurate.
Different drugs and alcohol have different effects on the people that take them, some increase the likelihood of violence, some actually decrease it, some will make the person agitated or frustrated more easily, but it wouldn't make them prone to violence of hostility. So it is helpful to know which type of drugs the person is using, which can sometimes be figured out by tell-tale signs of their behavior, lifestyle patterns and the like.
The trouble with classifying a drug user by behavioral patterns is that a person that uses one drug commonly will use others, not always, but often, therefore behavioral patterns can change with what drug the user is taking. These drug choice patterns can change with the users available money, what drug is most easily available at any given time, or a simple change in cravings for a certain type of high. So behavior can change dramatically with these changes.
